Workflow / 05. Measure

Measure the real momentum of every goal

Most teams have no real way to measure how fast they're actually moving. They track tasks completed, hours logged, or tickets closed — none of which tell you whether you're getting closer to the outcome that matters. Velocity measures momentum directly, in real time, tied to every active goal.

Momentum is a number, not a feeling.

Velocity calculates a momentum score for each goal based on task velocity, blocker frequency, and progress toward the outcome. You don't have to interpret a burndown chart or read between the lines of a status update. You see a single number that tells you exactly how fast your team is moving and whether that's fast enough.

Progress updates without anyone updating anything.

In most tools, keeping progress visible means someone has to maintain it. They have to update percentages, move cards, write status reports. In Velocity, progress updates the moment work gets done. Every completed task moves the goal forward automatically, and everyone on the team sees it happen in real time.

Blockers show up in the data before they show up in conversation.

When momentum drops on a goal, Velocity surfaces it before anyone has to flag it. You can see exactly where progress slowed, which tasks stalled, and how much it affected the overall outcome. This turns what used to be a retrospective finding into something you can act on while it still matters.

"For the first time we could actually see which goals were moving and which weren't — without asking anyone for an update."

Data that reflects the work, not the reporting.

The metrics in Velocity come directly from what your team is actually doing, not from what they've remembered to log. There's no lag between reality and what the dashboard shows. What you see is what's actually happening, right now, across every goal your team is working toward.
