Senior Product Engineer, AI

Velocy is goal-first project management built for founding teams. The AI at the core of our product reads an outcome and generates every task required to reach it automatically. We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer with a strong AI background to own and advance that system.

This is a high-impact role. You will work directly with the founding team on the intelligence layer that makes Velocy different from every other project management tool on the market.

What you will work on

• Own the AI infrastructure behind goal parsing, task generation, and blocker detection.
• Improve model accuracy and task relevance as our dataset of founding team workflows grows.
• Build and ship product features that surface AI-driven insights to users in real time.
• Work across the stack from prompt engineering and model fine-tuning to the frontend surfaces where the AI output lands.
• Define technical direction for AI features as the product scales.

What we are looking for

• 4 or more years of engineering experience with at least 2 years focused on AI or ML systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning workflows.
• Strong fullstack skills with a bias toward shipping and iterating fast.
• Ability to evaluate model output quality and translate that into product improvements.
• Genuine curiosity about how teams work and what it means for an AI system to understand that.
